Hi, I'm an admin from Avalanche Gaming.

The only active LAN parties in WA as of writing are RFLAN, Wol's LAN and Avalanche.

Albany LAN and WAX LAN have maybe very small chance of coming back, the rest are dead forever.

Will further add that the university computer club lans are also active but not public.

Hey Heady, thanks for joining us.

I will remove WAXLAN, EEST and POWA LAN from the first list above. The second list is a list of all-sorts picked up on OCAU, and those featured on the list may or may not be active. So although Albany LAN is inactive, it will stay on that list until we eventually get rid of the OCAU lists, in place of a proper "Inactive LANs" page.

I'm not sure what LAN Addicts Perth is doing; their last event was September last year, but I have not seen anything else from them online, since. Their listing will remain on our website for the time being.

As for CASSA, I will contact them and ask, just to make sure.

FYI, our automated de-listing mechanism will automatically drop LAN parties and gaming events that have not run any events for 13 months, from the main list on our website. The main list is much more likely to be up-to-date that the lists featured on our forum board.

I know the organisers of LAN Addicts and it's definitely not coming back.

CASSA is active but you need to be a member to attend their lans.

Albany gamers and WAXLan both have similar issues with burnt out admins and lack of community support and probably will never happen again but you never know.

Do you intend to list non-byo pc events?
There are some non-byo lans such as Legends of the West that do Dota 2 tournaments and there is a sizeable fighting game scene based on consoles.

Yes, we will list non-BYO PC and/or console events, provided they are public and not-for-profit.

We will also accept fighting game events, even if they are just arcade machines. I know that's not technically a LAN party (LAN implying a network of some description), but if it's still lots of people coming together to play video games, then that's fine by us. In fact, I recently re-wrote the front page and "About Us" page of the LAN Link website, to include electronic gaming events.

Many thanks for mentioning Legends of the West. I will list that one when I get the time. :)

Just an FYI in case anyone was still wondering, CASSA's normal LAN events are not open to the public, as those events make use of Edith Cowan University computers, which require a student login to use. However, CASSA's MegaLAN events are open to the public, as they encourage that people bring their own (BYO) computers or laptops to the event.
